This is a photoblog for Easter the Hedgehog. We are very proud of her and want to show her off. If you want to learn more about pet hedgehogs, please do a lot of research. They are very unique and wonderful and require care different than any other animal.

The most common pet species of hedgehog are hybrids of the white-bellied hedgehog or four-toed hedgehog (Atelerix albiventris) and the North African hedgehog (A. algirus). It is smaller than the European hedgehog, and thus is sometimes called the African pygmy hedgehog. Other species kept as pets are the long-eared hedgehog (Hemiechinus auritus) and the Indian long-eared hedgehog (H. collaris).
I am interested in getting a hedgehog.I was wondering if it was safe for them to run around my apartment,and If they would still be litter box trained.Please let me know if anyone has done this,and also where their hedgehog slept,and how they introduced it to running around after being in a cage.
